Gold Coast software developer B-Free Pty Ltd won federal government backing with an AusIndustry Commercialising Emerging Technologies (COMET) Grant.

The grant is awarded to companies showing outstanding commercial application in intelligent communication (IT).

COMET is part of the Australian Government’s innovation statement: Backing Australia’s Ability – Building Our Future through Science and Innovation.

According to AusIndustry, thousands of companies apply for the sought after COMET grant.

Funds are strictly limited; only companies that meet the exacting criteria are considered. Of these only those with outstanding potential are awarded the coveted grant.

B-Free software impressed the adjudicators with an innovative and unique accounting software package.
